Book Description

This book is a story of a boy born under less than ideal circumstances and not knowing why his childhood was so turbulent until the family secret was finally exposed when he turned 21. From that point on, his attitude on life was forever changed. His anger had him living on the edge which ultimately led him to purposely put his life and life style in peril many times over including his tour in Vietnam. Those who know him have described him as a mental bitch but it was that attitude and his intestinal fortitude that allowed him to face adversity without fear of failure. Any other way is giving in to life and he simply wasn’t raised that way. And for reasons he cannot understand, he has met every challenge including those that were self-inflicted, to press forward and continues to put one foot in front of the other.

Customers Review:

This book was incredibly entertaining! Richard Poole tells one amazing story after another, illustrating his life in a way that is at times heart-breaking, and at other times, incredibly moving. Poole confronts dark truths about his family and himself with earnest introspection and an obvious desire to become a better son, husband and father. He paints a picture of a fiercely loyal man who, even during life’s worst moments, is always able to appreciate the humor in his world. Like I did, you’ll find yourself rooting for a happy ending for Poole.
Amazing page turner at one point during reading this amazing book I was so engrossed in reading it I burnt my blueberry muffins to a crisp lol I highly recommend this book and new up coming author. I wish him nothing but the best because he so deserves it!
I can relate to this author in many ways. I too had an abusive father, I served in Vietnam and made a lot of mistakes throughout my life. Highly recommend this book.
