Along with being a pirate’s gold themed mystery for a young adult reader to enjoy, lots of great information is imparted through the adults in the novel revolving around the gopher tortoises, osprey and respect for the natural beauty of a barrier island. Some lessons in honesty, perseverance and respect are sprinkled throughout.

Wow…”best adventure book I’ve read since Huck Finn”Doubloon is an exciting story from cover to cover! A quick easy read that will pull you right in like the strong undertow of the southern gulf! This tale when finished will spit you out on the sandy beach. It will leave you exhausted, but wanting more and Knowing that can’t be the end.Doubloon has to be a series (hint hint) if it’s not already in the making.This book makes “reading time” fun and something kids will look forward too!
This is a great book and an easy read. It is an adventure book for boys (or girls) age 8-11. It is a refreshing, clean book about an average boy and his adventures at the beach.
I’m no kid but this book was recommended by a friend. It is a fun read set in a part of Florida I have visited while Tarpon fishing. Loved the story, loved the history, loved reliving my trip through the eyes of a young boy.
Excellent book! Easy read. Was so interested in the story, finished the book in only a couple of sittings. Had all the elements of a beach vacation. Family drama, adventure and mischief. |
