Book Description Kate loves to look at her tablet. Mama feels concerned. Children today seem to prefer looking at screens more than enjoying the outdoors and free play with one another. Every place they go, Kate seems to be looking down at her screen. Even at school, Kate uses a device. At first, Kate feels that Mama is overreacting. But, after some personal reflection and deeper thinking, Kate connects the dots and finds understanding in Mama’s plea. Read more Customers Review: Excellent book that every family should own. Such important words and a message that needs to be broadcast loud and clear these days. This book makes the perfect gift for every family with kids. This book is well written, heartwarming and the pages are covered in wonderful illustrations! About a subject we are all dealing with, kids and and their screens. Parents and their children, both need to look in each other’s face. So relevant and a wonderful conversation starter for my daughter and I. Just the perfect book for our family at this moment – she’s 6, in first grade and read it entirely to me; we’ve made a pact to spend less time with our devices and more time really “seeing” one another. Highly recommend and hoping for more from Denise soon! This a great book for parents and grandparents to read together. It stresses the importance of real face time not screen time for children as well as parents. We are missing so much of this beautiful world when we ate constantly looking down. This is a perfect message for both children and adults. As adults we sometimes forget that they learn from our actions so when reading this book both my son and I were able to take ownership and talk about the things that are important and the things that are less important in life I like that it was short and to the point. It will be an easy read for any age. I think it will be a great tool for children of all ages to realize how important it is to pick your head up from your screen and be sure to interact human to human. My daughters absolutely love this book. I love the old school feel of the Illustrations. The theme is wonderful, real-life people before screens. A must-have!!! Awesome book on the importance of limiting screen time for kids! |
