Customers Review:

I read this book in one sitting, once I started I couldn’t put it down. It is a fast read that absorbs the reader within moments. The author’s voice is strong and clear, and I found myself relating to many of the author’s struggles and victories as a parent of two similarly aged children. The author is an advocate for her son who is on the autism spectrum, and really invites the reader into her life to show the struggles and joys of all family members involved. As a teacher and a parent, I highly recommend this book to anyone, even if you don’t know someone on the autism spectrum. This book will leave you feeling compassion, empathy, and will most likely change your perspective on how you will treat any parent/child/family/student you may meet one day who is on the spectrum. I was awed and inspired by the author’s patience throughout. The author and her words shine!
Really!!!! As a mom of an 8 year old preverbal daughter on the autism spectrum, this story sat deep in my spirit. I found myself being able to identify with so many of the emotions discussed in this book. Open your heart and mind to the words of this author. She gives the reader a glimpse intoHer world and the world of her children. I especially enjoyed reading about the bond between Buddy and Sissy. My daughter is my only child so I don’t get to see this type of interaction. It was great reading about the protective baby sister.I have written a book but, it pales in comparison to this. The world of autism parenting is spread wide open by this author. I applaud her ability to be courageous and bold. Get the book! Read the book! Share the book!
I couldn’t believe how fast I essentially devoured this book. It is so beautifully written, I just couldn’t put it down. It is inspiring and hopeful. Every chapter warmed my heart and taught me something.I am not a mother, but I have a loved one who is on the spectrum and this book answered so many of the questions I didn’t even know I had. I kept thinking “OH, that is why…” or “OH, that is how I can be of more help to her…” or “OH, I’m NOT crazy for having felt that way…”. It validated my own feelings and everything I’ve experienced. I have felt so much more prepared to help and connect with her. She has already noticed a difference. This book is why/how I can interact with her in a different way now. This book is for anyone who is looking for guidance and hope in their struggle to understand a loved one on the spectrum AND this book is for any parent who wants to be truly inspired in their journey to understand and have compassion for their children.
As an autism mom, it was refreshing to know that I am not alone. I loved seeing the similarities in our parenting experiences and the beautiful similarities with the daughter. Awesome job. Definitely recommend this book
You won’t be disappointed. This book is so relatable and inspiring. I am now reimagining my strategies for parenting and self care of myself and my children. A must read!
