I love this book! The stories about courageous women inspire me to attempt to walk just a little bit in their shoes. Many of the women in this book were women I learned about as a child and then again while I was getting my M.Div. I am planning on giving my (adult) daughters a copy of this book. It’s never too late for today’s women to learn how women of the past changed the world. Thank you Shirley Raye for writing such an inspirational book.
Shirley Raye Redmond highlights women and girls of faith in easy-to-read shorts that show how God influenced His daughters to change the world. I was familiar with some of the women, but not all. I love to learn about courageous Christians from diverse backgrounds. This is a great book for devotional reading, reading with children, and to inspire adults. The illustrations capture the spirit of each world changer. I highly recommend.
I have been a fan of Shirley Raye’s christian romances for years and she has taken her love of strong women to a whole new level. Courageous World Changers is a beautifully illustrated book about 50 amazing women. Each page tells the story of a strong Christian woman who has made the world a better place. She includes Gabby Douglas, Bethany Hamilton, and Rosa Parks just to name a few. This book would make a great gift for any of the young women in your life as a way to show them that they can do anything they put their minds to, or even us grown ups who could use a little inspiration now and then.
Courageous World Changers provides wonderful short biographies of fifty women who heard God’s calling. They are from different centuries, backgrounds, and conquered a variety of challenges. The book is full of women who felt directed to follow God’s guidance and face their opportunities. Adults will enjoy the stories and may be familiar with some of the women and some may be new to you. It is a wonderful book to share with the girls in your life and a great opportunity to present them with some courageous role models.Shirley Raye Redmond does a great job of portraying these biographies in a story like manner that will be easy for children to follow.I highly recommend this book .Submitted by Nancy Bliss
My children and I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this new book by Shirley Raye Redmond! These stories of 50 courageous women, whose faith and determination helped to change our world, are inspiring! The book is beautifully illustrated and highlights such a diverse mix of women. My daughter was especially excited to see Ruby Bridges highlighted in this book, as she had written a report on her in 2nd grade and portrayed Ruby in her school’s “wax museum”.I highly recommend getting this book for the young people in your life and making memories reading it together! You won’t be disappointed!
This book will be enjoyed in different ways . I love the format , a page of reading of each historically and current , courageous woman with an enjoyable illustration of each one . What a great way to inspire the young reader then to delve deeper into the life of these women and be inspired . Adults will love it too for a wonderful reference and for a detailed summary of each one . Teachers could use this book to choose to read to their class and use each life story as a springboard for more study and discussion. I love books that will give me a brief reading to know more about wonderful people . You will want this book for your library .
Courageous World Changers by Shirley Rae Redmond is an inspiring book highlighting 50 lives of women from all different cultures and backgrounds that all have one thing in common, their deep faith and love for God. It is a beautifully illustrated book and the descriptions of each lady are very well written highlighting their lives and how they inspired others with their faith. This is a wonderful book for every age but especially young girls. I have not only purchased it for my library but will be purchasing more for gifts as well. |
