Book Description

Review “It all sounds like mastery, like singular virtuosity attained on a very popular instrument — common American speech.” (New York Times Book Review)”Hass personalizes everything, warms everything up. He’s an open book; but he’s also someone whom readers should, in every sense of the phrase, keep their eye on.” (New Yorker) Read more About the Author Robert Hass was born in San Francisco. Customers Review:

This is a new collection of poems by Robert Hass since The Apple Trees at Olema which came out 10 years ago and contained new, as well as selected poems from previous works. Fans of Robert Hass will relish in the familiarity of the way he writes his poems and this collection is absolutely wonderful. I think this book would be great for people who are already familiar with Robert Hass but also for people just discovering him.
I took a poetry class from Bob many, many years ago. Our small group would often meet in bars in Berkeley to drink beer and make up poems.Professor Haas infused me with a lifelong love to live my life with the keenest awareness my pea brain can musterand though I toil in the dull swamp of insurance actuaries I am resurrected in poetry every day.
