Book DescriptionIn his character-defi ning run on DAREDEVIL, Brian Michael Bendis crafted a pulp-fiction narrative that exploited the Man Without Fear’s rich tapestry of characters and psychodrama with an incredibly nuanced, modern approach. Earning an Eisner Award for Best Continuing Series, Bendis and artist Alex Maleev restored Daredevil to a luster worthy of the all-time greats. And the only road to victory will take Daredevil to a very dark place. Plus, don’t miss the introduction of the alluring Milla Donovan – and the return of Black Widow and Elektra! Guest-starring Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones and more! COLLECTING: DAREDEVIL (1998) 16-19, 26-50, 56-60 Customers Review: His Avengers and Dark Avengers work? Iconic. Especially the latter. His Ultimate work, reinventing the well-trod territory manages to be both careful, bright, and already dated – fast. He definitely grew as a writer as time passed, but here we get nothing a hardcore crime novelist – yeah I said: novelist – such as Ed Brubaker couldn’t do in his sleep. Writers have their periods; some, like Grant Morrison, rarely date quickly. Bendis is the man of his moment in time and that can be an albatross to bear. Today someone like Matt Fraction simply laps Bendis, without ever having been granted to start universes or reinvent icons. A Fraction Hawkeye is worth ten of these. Hell, even a Brubaker X-men (controversial) or Waid FF.
