One can’t get to Easter without going through Good Friday. But how can Good Friday be presented to small children in a way that is theologically sound and age appropriate? Amelia Richardson Dress has accomplished this in simple, straight-forward language accompanied by lovely illustrations. She reminds us that “This [Good Friday] is not the end of the story,” and it’s a good reminder for adults, as well. I recommend this book for anyone sharing the Easter story.
This is a beautiful retelling of the Easter story. I love how it really explains events in an easy way for children to understand. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.
This book is very well done. I appreciate the accessible theology and beautiful illustrations. Great work!
I love the way this book focuses on what Jesus focused on – love! This book tackles some enormous ideas (crucifixion and resurrection) in a way that is targeted at children, but stays true to the ideals that adults still struggle with.
This book is amazing! It tells the Easter story in the most “love-filled way!” It is the BEST book about Easter I have found for children! It captures the message of Easter without trauma and without making it “childish.” LOVE this book so much!
