I don’t like all the illustrations. Some are enchanting and others just have no appeal to me. Because I am use to thinking whales swim in pods, the story confused me as to why he was sad. It ends happily and the illustrations portray that. The whale size at the end seems alarmingly huge . Which is nice in an imaginative way.
