Customers Review:

Oh, Terry. May I call you Terry? I still love you, Terry. I’ll still buy whatever you put out there. But either you’ve gotten too fancy to listen to your editor, or your editor is too cowed to actually edit your books. We’re your loyal readers. We’re not idiots. If you tell us something, we listen, and we remember, so you don’t have to tell us eighteen more times. Trust us.Your stories still sing. Your characters still touch our hearts and chill our souls. We love Richard and Kahlan to the end of the world. But you very nearly lost me in the first half of this one.It goes like this…Richard: Hey, there’s something really bad happening! I can fix it but there’s no time…badness could happen again at any second. No time to lose! Gotta hurry! So just sit there while I explain for FIVE PAGES about how we have to hurry and do this thing right now before the badness happens! You have to understand EVERY FACET of what I’m going to do and there’s not a second to spare! So I’m going to explain it all at least three times, and you can feel free to ask me a million questions, which I will answer by saying exactly what I just said four other times, and then we’ll be ready because there’s not a moment to lose! Badness any minute!Kahlan: Wow, that WAS really bad! And it’s still pretty bad! It’s almost too late to stop the bad that’s happening right now! So now I’ll explain for TWO MORE PAGES why we have to act right now or we won’t be able to fix the badness! Hurry and listen to me explain what we have to do RIGHT NOW before it’s too late! Not a second to lose! Shut up, I’m talking!Yeah. I’m maybe exaggerating a little. But not much.So if you’re already into this phase of the story, reviews don’t matter because you’re buying it anyway. If you’re not a die-hard fan, you won’t have made it this far because Pillars of Creation will have crushed your soul years ago, so reviews still won’t matter. This review won’t convince anyone either way.But maybe, Terry, just maybe someone will show this to you or your editor. The prophecies are forked, but we remain ever hopeful that your writing will return to the early days when every word counted. When you were hungry. When you gave us the world that keeps calling us back from the veil.Deserve Victory.
Oh my, I get goose bumps reading this installment of the Children of D’Hara. From start to finish the only thing I didn’t do was bite my nails. The suspense kept me on the edge of my seat feeling the pain been inflicted on Richard and the Mother Confessor. I can’t spoil this by giving away twist and turns and unwelcome surprises. Damn you Terry for giving me daytime nightmares with a cliff hanger…….. the twins …… my jaw is still open. Hurry with the next installment so I can avoid an heart attack. This is a fantasy drama that reflects real time visualization, all I can say is get this installment and read it, it’s worth your time
I have read most of Mr. Goodkind has written over the last 20 years or so. Always been a fan. But, did anyone actually edit this book? It is so repetitive and excessively redundant that its almost distracting to read. Granted, I will finish it and read the last one as I want to know what happens in the story, but I am disappointed in the quality of writing in this book. Sorry. Usually don’t comment but I had to say something. Hope the last book is much better.
Are like waiting until after the Commercial to see the results of the a favorite Game Show.. LOL… BUT I DO enjoy the way I can just pick up each New Book IN every series that TERRY GOODKIND writes and immediately I’m taken back to what I was reading about in the Previous book. It’s just like waiting until after the Commercial to end. So YOU can pick up where YOU left off. .Ya know what I mean. I Personally think his books are GOOD for most any age that understands the mystical powers and the difference between life and death Majic and Non Magic. AND also the significance of the TRUTH in ALL things living. So no little kids (12 years & under)should be reading without Adult supervision. But that’s just MY Opinions OKAY. Can’t wait to see what happens with the Twins. I hope they survive long enough to have a series of their own. Please ❤
Captured…powerless…at a powerful enemy’s mercy…or lack thereof. That’s where this story begins!!!The Golden Goddess and the Glee still seek Richard and Kahlan with the intent to end their lives… destroy magic…and rule the world. Their only hope is to find their way to a safe place where they – and their children to be – can be protected. Yet, every breath they take, every move they make someone is watching them. And now, they must find their way free from this new enemy who not only has power’s of their own, but has the ability to bend the Mord-Sith to their will. An enemy who is not only powerful but is sworn by a Witch’s Oath to destroy the royal family…an Oath that is more than it seems. This is the 4th book in the CHILDREN OF D’HARA series and Terry Goodkind, with all the twists and turns he is famous for building into his stories, has yet to unveil all of them. In this new chapter in the series he uncovers threads thought buried in the Underworld and new threats that were not forseen. Goodkind sits at his loom, weaving new dangers and new threats that he continues to form into the huge tapestry that is the world of the Sword of Truth. This book should be read in order from the previous three chapters in order to fully grasp and understand all the intricacies and pieces that make up this chapter.
