I anxiously awaited the arrival of this book and it surpassed all expectations I had! The storyline and illustrations are beautifully designed as they take the reader on their journey. When reading it to our daughters (5 and 3) they were engaged and excited to see what would happen next. Even better were the valuable lessons they learned and were able to articulate as the characters progressed through the book.I can’t wait to share it with my students and dive in deeper to important messages shared. This book supports lessons and discussions that can be taught with students related to resilience, confidence, and celebrating others. As a teacher who currently works with students grades 4th-6th, I can easily see this being implemented in the classroom for meaningful discussions for all ages.This book is for anyone who interacts with children should have in their library! Hope and Wade King did it once again!
To say I was anxiously awaiting the arrival of this book would be an understatement. If you’ve read The Wild Card by Hope and Wade King, then you certainly know these two are the King (no pun intended) and Queen of amping up educational engagement! The newest addition to the Wild Card family does not fall short of AMAZING! This book is a must read for any teacher, parent, or anyone else who is around children. This book introduces readers to the Wild Card kids and follows along as they unlock their superpowers. I read it to my students the day after receiving it and they were all highly engaged and excited to find out what happened next on each page. The illustrations are also out of this world. Major kudos to you, Hope and Wade – you knocked this one out of the park!
Excellent way to teach children about soft skills in life. Love the ideas that can grow from the use of this books.
The book itself was amazing! I was just disappointed that it had some defects and the book wasn’t cheap. I paid more for hardcover so that it would last longer and it came dented and bent. ♀️
I love The Wild Card, but was disappointed in this book. It was not at all what I expected.

The Wild Card Kids is a must have for EVERY student, educator, parent, or anyone who works with kids. Not only is it an incredible journey for students to read about but it also points out certain life skills that many students seem to struggle with at times.The book is beautifully illustrated and the storyline keeps the kids on the edge of their seat waiting to hear where the card leads them next. The book could be read to kids all at one time or it also could be an introduction to a new soft skill each day.This book is a great guide for educators or parents to help them have meaningful conversations about failure, celebrating others success, as well as other important life skills or as the book calls them… “superpowers”!! As an administrator, I highly recommend this book!! Thanks Hope and Wade for helping to make a difference in education!! |
