An easy book that lays out the teachings of yoga, and stepping into a better life, in very practical, simple ways. Coby offers a relaxed DOABLE approach to help make life feel more rich and goals more attainable. This book is a great cover to cover read. It’s also proving to be awesome as an “open randomly” for a quick knowledge-bomb if you just need a reminder! Mostly I appreciate how accessible and practical the material is. She’s so good at reframing information and offering a variety of different daily experiments to jump into so we can each figure out what suites us best as we TAKE OWNERSHIP for our lives on a moment to moment basis! A truly delicious combo of well-worded wisdom, hands on experiments, and insightful personal stories that all help guide us toward a better understanding of ourselves and our place in the world. I wish I had the money to buy this book for everyone I care about, and also for those I don’t! 🙂
Somehow Coby found a way to take complex ideas in yoga philosophy and make them totally practical for everyday life. What I love most is that she doesn’t just explain the concepts, but gives lots of examples of how these practices could be appropriate for modern people, living busy lives. Even though this is a yoga book, I think it could help anyone. Most yoga philosophy books leave me feeling intrigued but confused. Not this one. Coby unpacks all the information in a way that I can understand, and even more important, in a way that I can immediately apply to my life. I am already making little changes that absolutely have a positive impact on myself and the people around me. I’m really excited to see what is possible when I continue my one degree shifts. No joke, this book can change your life.
I purchased this book to support the scholarships the sales are funding. Once I started reading it, I could not put it down. Coby uses her experience, insight, compassion and humor to explain the beauty of yoga in a way that is accessible to everyone. As a yoga instructor with over 1000 hours of training, I have read many books on yoga. I would love to see this book as part of the 200 hour training. It is simple yet profound. A must have for seasoned yogis and anyone interested in starting the journey.
Ahh! I love this book, for it is so much of Coby’s brilliance put into writing for all to access! Literally, anyone can read this insightful book! It really offers reflection and teachings on where we can live a more purposeful and skillful life. She makes living yoga easy to understand, while offering supportive exercises to apply to real life- things we can easily each use on a daily basis. I totally believe that what this book is based on- her Quarter Life Calling retreat- should be implemented into school systems everywhere. If we could tap more into our authentic selves- each of us!- what would life individually and collectively be like?! It is a true gift to the world to have One Degree Revolution now in our hands and homes. I can’t wait to share this with my own coaching clients and gift it on❤️
This book is a true guide to living your best life. It is written from the heart with integrity by a woman who walks her talk. She has a mission to change the world and offers us a human grounded approach to align with what we already know within. It feels like wisdom coming from your best friend. A must read for all on the path of finding and living their truth. Read and give it to your best friend!!!
What I LOVE about this book is the insight/knowledge that comes from the authors experiences + tools she has used with herself, her students, her clients and colleagues. So different than other books I have read where at the end of the chapter there are questions that relate with the readings. This book “pauses” several times within each chapter to implement the teachings with “inquiries” to actually create change(s) by action. Coby honors ancient wisdom/teachings and alchemically converts them into language and application for small shifts to create BIG changes personally and collectively. Great gift for Self and those you truly care about.
I cannot express in words how useful this book and this work is for every individual. I have sent a couple copies out to my friends in need of inspiration, and am happy it will contribute to scholarships for other people craving to find inner freedom. I recently attended a quarter life calling retreat with Coby which this book is based on. I can say that the wisdom you will find in this book is a way of living that she has implemented in her own life, and the freedom shines through her. It is a simple guidline to finding peace and contentment. If you are looking for a way to get the most out of your life, and some tools to learn how to sit with it all, this book is a must read. ♡♡♡
This book makes yoga philosophy, which in many other books can seem really complicated and hard to grasp, easy to understand and relate to. I bought both the book and audiobook because I love being able to bookmark things I love, and also listen to it on my morning drive. I own a yoga studio and will be requiring all of the people in our teacher training to read it! I believe this book is great for everyone to read, but particularly for young people looking for some direction. Give this gift to yourself or someone you know who could use some insight, clarity, and inspiration.
