Customers Review: I just read The Greatest Gambling Story Ever and WOW! A hunch on a female horse to beat the males turns into a longshot bet in Tijuana. The author did an outstanding job of connecting me to the characters, had me rooting for the Filly to beat the males, and making me feel that I have a vested interest in seeing them all succeed in surviving the cartel and bringing their winnings across the border. I can’t believe this is based on a true story! I highly recommend this book! Yes, the story is great, but the author is a master. The organization, development of the story, and the excellent story telling sent me looking for other books by the author. I found none. It is a pleasure to read. After reading so many so often, this book stood out immediately as first-rate. One of the best. Horseracing is for kings and poor alike. This book has it all.. Fear, fact, cheering the horse….raised with the love for horses this book answered all my loves. Loved reading this book! Absolute must I read The Greatest Gambling Story Ever Told, in one afternoon ….. A first for me. The book is so well-paced, I couldn’t put it down. I love it when a true-life storyline is more gripping than contrived fiction. Can’t wait to get the audio version so I can hear the story again. I learned so much about thoroughbred racing’s gambling side. I initially wanted to read this because I have been to the derby (very much lived up to the hype), and I am also a horse owner (barrel racing quarter horses). This book was such an easy read that I didn’t want it to end. Very entertaining and well written. I am not someone who follows horse racing but I thoroughly loved this book “The Greatest Gambling Story Ever Told!” It is a fantastic story about the underdog that anyone can enjoy. It’s an action packed adventure that kept me guessing until the very end. Once you got started it was difficult to put down— truly riveting! I would highly recommend reading it! I absolutely loved this book!A real page turner!
