My children and I love this book. It’s cute & quirky, and the illustrations are beautiful. The story is a meandering walk through Ruby Red Shoes’ life, with lovely messages about kindness and enjoying the simple things in life. It has a European feel to it and includes a bit of French (the follow up books sees Ruby Red Shoes travelling to Paris and London). We’re travelling overseas full time now and had to leave this beloved book at home, but we’re so pleased to find it on Kindle so that we can have it with us. I so wanted to love this book. The illustrations are lovely! Unfortunately, there is absolutely no plot. The author created a n adorable character who deserves an actual storyline.
