Book Details Title: Lawrence: The Bunny Who Wanted to Be Naked | |
Book DescriptionReview “Plays to a common desire for many little ones, who will root for Lawrence in his quest for freedom…. Be prepared for streaking toddlers.” — Booklist “Kousky’s watercolor illustrations provide gentle, natural backdrops in hilarious contrast with Lawrence’s and his mother’s gaudily patterned clothing; the clothes are not only creative but also genuinely laugh-out-loud funny…” — Bulletin”Kousky takes an emotionally savvy look at a mother-child relationship that’s gone a little off the rails… The digitized watercolor and pencil fashion parade strikes just the right balance of inventiveness and awfulness; readers will simultaneously feel for the wearer while finding the broad array amusing.” — Publishers Weekly Read more About the Author VERN KOUSKY is the author-illustrator of HAROLD LOVES HIS WOOLLY HAT, called “accessible and appealing” in a starred review from School Library Journal. Read more Customers Review: To first give compliment, I want to say, Harold loves his woolly hat and the Song Bird are two of my favorites. Loved the stories and the illustrations. This book, not so much. When I first opened it, I thought it was really nicely done . But as I went further into the book, I only like some of the illustrations. Too many illustrations that looked odd or partly unfinished. It was hard to tell that he even was a rabbit. Too many illustrations with repeated over and over that the rabbit had to wear odd clothes. Story seemed more like a kid complaining and the parent was clueless. So by the time I got to the ending, I didn’t like the story or the illustrations.
