This is a story everyone with a son can relate to. With intention, forethought and insight she and her son together created a support network for Max, her son; a ceremonial rite she calls a Black Mitzvah. This village of men, and the support they provided was clearly invaluable. The story elegantly portrays Max’s developmental journey and provides an insiders’ journey into the challenges we all face in raising strong independent sons but also enlightens us about some unique challenges specific to young men differently cabled.
