Book Description

Review “Hot off his brilliant book, Crisis of Responsibility, David Bahnsen turns his keen eye on the crisis that is Elizabeth Warren and her ‘plans’ to dismantle the free market system. It’s a must read for those who want to know what might be in store for America under a Warren presidency. Warren is a peculiar mix of progressive passions and pathologies: the populist technocrat. Rather than a pitchfork, she wields her ‘plans,’ which have less to do with actual public policy and more to do with making her agenda sound less than radical than it really is. David does a masterful job of pulling back the curtain and exposing Warren’s plans for what they really are.”  — Jonah Goldberg, Asness Chair in Applied Liberty, American Enterprise Institute”David Bahnsen combines a cool-eyed sensibility with blessedly jargon-free prose to build an impregnable case against Elizabeth Warren. This is an impressive polemic.” — John Podhoretz, Editor-in-Chief, “Commentary””In this engaging and incisive book, David Bahnsen lays bare the damage an Elizabeth Warren presidency would do to this country. David clearly details how everyone one of Warren’s favored policies—from Medicare for All to the Green New Deal and beyond—would bury the middle class in taxes and red tape. This book is a must-read for anyone interested in politics and policy—and adroitly explains what’s at stake in the 2020 presidential election.” — Sally C. Pipes, CEO, Pacific Research Institute”What a great political and economic anomaly: The populist Left, championed by Elizabeth Warren, is determined to vanquish wealth—the thing most essential to the investment, productivity, and growth desperately needed to underwrite the evermore ambitious progressive agenda. Here, David Bahnsen, a brilliant financial analyst with a keen political eye, provides the antidote to Senator Warren’s nostrums, and a Hazlitt-esque Capital in One Lesson for the rest of us.” — Andrew C. McCarthy, National Review, New York Times Bestselling Author”If Elizabeth Warren has a ‘plan for everything,’ then David Bahnsen has the response. David’s book is a thorough, fair-minded, and comprehensive rebuttal to Warren’s ideological project. It’s a serious response to serious proposals, and it’s a vital read for every American who’s engaged in the battle of ideas.”  — David French, Senior Editor, The Dispatch”With her relentless insistence that she has ‘a plan’ for all aspects of American life, Elizabeth Warren has become the poster-child of the Democratic Party’s dramatic leftward rush. In this timely book, David Bahnsen dismantles Warren’s fanatical agenda brick by brick, revealing it to be ignorant, dangerous, innumerate and, ultimately, immoral.” — Charles Cooke, Editor, NationalReview.com”If you aren’t afraid of Senator Elizabeth Warren, you should be.  She has taken political populism and married it to the powerfully divisive engines of class envy and racial animus. For every real or perceived ill, Warren has a ‘plan’—every one of which expands the massive power of government into all aspects of American life, and entails a ruthless program of confiscation to pay for it.  That’s why it is important for every American to become acquainted with what she is saying. And that is why it is so important to read David Bahnsen, who clearly tackles her distortions, misstatements, and outright lies.  America was built on e pluribus unum; out of many, one. We are one people, one nation. But if Elizabeth Warren prevails, this unity will be fractured into innumerable bitterly divided camps ultimately controlled by an all-powerful central government.  All Americans should arm themselves with the facts and responses presented in David Bahnsen’s Elizabeth Warren: How Her Presidency Would Destroy the Middle Class and the American Dream. This is an impressive and important book.” — Dennis Prager, nationally syndicated radio talk show host, New York Times bestselling author, and president of PragerU”Elizabeth Warren: How Her Presidency Would Destroy the Middle Class and the American Dream is a serious, thorough, policy-driven critique of a major contender for the Democratic nomination. Conservatives will read it and fear what’s in store for them if she becomes president. Hopefully liberals will read it too, and take its warning to heart.”  — The National Review Read more About the Author David L. Customers Review:

A must read for anyone interested in Warren’s policies and understanding how the Dems are plotting to turn America into a socialist country. Very well researched book.
This book outlines many of the issues of being a financial illiterate vis-a-vie political rhetoric. Both parties use inflammatory language without much fact to back up their statements. As of this writing there are 607 billionaires in the USA. If you confiscate all their net worth it will not run the US government for a whole year and then what will you do the next year. This book is a good way to understand the exaggerated rhetoric you find in politics.
An excellent and well timed analysis of the current progressive position held by Elizabeth Warren and others in the radical progressive movement. AOC has said that the traditional democratic party is a “centrist conservative” party. This book provides an in depth analysis of the policy positions held by Warren and others in the progressive movement and what it means for the country.
A eye opening discussion of the beneficial side of Wall Street. Not dismissing bad but emphatic to the American Dream and hopeful of a continuation of a free and virtuous America.
As a strong 10th Amendment proponent, I do not usually get as much in a flurry over presidential elections as many of my friends and acquaintances. I did not vote for Trump, but understand and can sympathize with why many did. However…….. I just finished having David Bahnsen read me his new book on Democratic Presidential Candidate Elizabeth Warren. He discusses the topics of the financial crisis, wealth tax, environmentalism, healthcare, education, taxation, Silicon Valley, class warfare and much more. While he specifically, and in much detail, addresses many of Warren’s proposals line by line, still much can be gleaned generally on these subjects for anyone interested in the 2020 Presidential brouhaha we are in the midst of for the next several months. Bahnsen is quite articulate, cogent, and fair in his analysis; polemics at its finest, with grace. He goes way deeper than shallow and ambiguous and deceptive talking points. The book is a refreshing vaccine against “victimhood”, and a strong boost for human dignity. I finished the audio version and I ordered the hard copy today to have on hand.
“For every problem, real or imagined, it seems that Elizabeth Warren declares, “I have a plan for that.” In this concise expose’ David Bahnsen examines the most prominent of Senator Warren’s plans and the taxes and confiscations that she proposes to use to pay for them. Chapter by chapter, David fairly describes the policy positions proposed by the Senator, sourced to her own words, and then, in terms that are easy to understand given their complexity, David proceeds to explain why those proposals for America are a recipe for disaster. David is an expert in capital markets, and for this alone there is value in reading his analysis of Senator Warren’s policies affecting the economy, from her broad demonizing of “Wall Street” to legislation she supported following the 2008 financial crisis. But David’s talent for explaining complex subjects in simple terms extends beyond the expertise derived from his profession, for David is a scholar of the American experiment who not only condemns Warren’s policies as unworkable but explains why they are immoral as well. Even if Elizabeth Warren is not nominated to oppose Donald Trump in November, this book is worth reading because of its policy assessments that pertain to nearly every candidate currently running in the Democratic primaries.”
This book is worth every penny simply for the economic education it provides. I learned so much reading this book. It is clear, cogent, well-argued, logical, and persuasive. I highly recommend it. You will learn and you will be inspired by the vision that Bahnsen offers for America in our current climate. This is simply a superb little book. I can’t wait for Bahnsen’s next one!
What happens when a Wall Street financial manager steps way out of his depth and asserts that a presidential candidate is a threat to the American dream? A book with no evidence base whatsoever that ends up a rant of cherry-picked data and examples that fit his preconceived schema. It would appear that Elizabeth Warren is a threat to his version of the American dream. But he isn’t particularly convincing beyond that.
